Heresies and Destructive Doctrines
Unconfessed Sins of Old
|
In these last days, many false teachers will secretly bring in destructive heresies which blaspheme `truth'. They will surely face swift destruction and finally the eternal damnation. These false teachers will deny the Lord in His Attributes, Power, Word, Promises, Teachings, and Works.
|
`Sins of Old' means sins committed prior to conversion to Christianity (or born-again experience). All failures, sicknesses and problems are blamed to the unconfessed `sins of old' including the sins of the forefathers. This is heresy, for on the day that a person accepted the Lord, his sins (together with the curses) are cleansed by the precious blood of Jesus once and for all. All his past sins were borne by Jesus, and thus they are forgiven by God through redemption.
By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all... For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified....then He adds, "Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more." Heb 10:10,14,17 (NKJ)
Christians teaching this type of doctrine are misled and blind. They are truly the false christs for their teachings destroy Christian's faith. They are putting fear into other Christians to waste their time searching for unconfessed sins of the past (or witch hunting). They just have no understanding of `Grace'
For he who lacks these things (2 Pet 1:5-7) is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. 2 Pet 1:9 (NKJ)
The following scriptures warn us of false christs (grievous wolves) misleading the flock to made their own disciples with their destructive heresies (and not disciples of our chief Shepherd Jesus Christ).
"Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves." Acts 20:28-30 (NKJ)
Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern. For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame-- who set their mind on earthly things. Phil 3:17-19 (NKJ)
The blood of Jesus cleanses all past sins. We do not know many of past sins we had committed. But when we came before the Lord and humbled ourselves by confessing we were sinners, believed that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and accepted Him to be our personal Saviour, His precious blood cleansed us from all our sins (past and then). Now if we confess our present sin, He is righteous and faithful and forgive us of all our sin.
|
even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, Rom 3:22-25 (NKJ)
to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace Eph 1:6-7 (NKJ)
He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. Col 1:13-15 (NKJ)

These false christs (declaring that the blood of Jesus cannot cleanse unconfessed past sins and sins of the forefathers) have counted the blood of the covenant as useless, thereby trampled the Son of God underfoot and also insulted the Spirit of grace. This destructive heresy destroys the faith of Christian. Repent from this heresy
|
Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine; I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The Lord will judge His people." It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Heb 10:29-31 (NKJ)
|
Repent, brethren, otherwise terrible punishment awaits you, for God will take His vengeance on you for deceiving His sheep.
|
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Heb 9:27-28
|
But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. 2 Pet 2:1-3
