Since the beginning of revival in the Seventies and Eighties, Godly Christians were fervent preaching the everlasting gospel and aslo proclaiming that the Day of the Lord (Rapture) is near. The topic of the Rapture and the Second Coming of the Lord was popular then, and that the Lord would likely come back by the end of the Century.

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" Matt 24:3 (NKJ)

When His disciples privately asked the Lord when and what would the signs of His coming and the end of the age. He immediately answered them and warned them of the deceptions of the false Christs.

And Jesus answered and said to them: "Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many." Matt 24:4-5 (NKJ)

Immediately the Lord told His disciples that in the End-time, false Christs abound with heresies and distorted truth to decieve Christians. Unfortunately, many of His children (Christians) will be decieved.

Who are the False Christs ?

False christs are Christian leaders who can preach, minister and teach the word of God fervently. Though their teachings are in general biblical, yet the truth is not in them. They are not aware of their destructive teachings and zealously promote these so-called `newly inspired teachings' in churches. Their sincerity and faith will convince many Christians to become disciples of their wrong doctrines. The Devil himself quoted the Word of God to tempt our Lord Jesus Christ by mis-interpreting the contents (Matt 4:1-10). Our Lord overcame this deception by His faith in the Word of God according to its context. Similarly, we can only overcome these deceptions by using Scriptures. A good knowledge and understanding of the truth in the Scriptures in highly desirable. Obedience to the Word of God is paramount.
Christ {christos} in Greek - means anointed
False christs are those annointed or (appointed) servants of God but their teachings are false (or distorted). Though their teachings sound biblical, their misinterpretation of the scriptures mislead Christians thus destroying their faith in the Cross (God's perfect work). Recent History of fasle Christs

Another parable He put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way." Matt 13:24-25 (NKJ)

However, during this period of revival, false teachers secretly brought in heresies and distorted teachings. These wrong teachings destroyed their complete faith in the Lord thus resulting to Christians being toss about by the various winds of doctrine

These heresies taught Christians to be self-centred, worldly and carnal. The fear of God disappear from these decieved Christians for they dare to use the Name of the Lord for their own personal gains. These false teachers were so successful that by the beginning of the Nineties, Christians were lukewarm to Jesus coming back. In 1993AD, when the PLO-Israel Peace Accord was signed (...Read more), almost all Christians and Christian leaders, and all the Christian nations worldwide displayed their misdeed by rejoicing in this Abomination to the Lord. Immediately, by 1994 more than a million souls were killed by the many civil wars (...Read more) that suddenly sprang-up. God's displeasure was manifested when a great earthquake killed over 100,000 souls in India and the other caused billions of US dollars of losses in California. In 1997AD, the great economic downturn in Asia, Africa and Central and South Americas (where there were great revivals in their churches), brought many Chrisitans to their knees before God for deliverance. God used these events to wake up Christians from their comfort zones and to get them to do the work of God. Christians were once again warm to the topic of the Coming of the Lord. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. 2 Cor 11:13-15 (NKJ)

Today, these false christs are the pastors, teachers and church leaders. It is a time of sorrow for God to see many of His servants (pastors and leaders) teaching heresies and wrong doctrines that blaspheme truth. It grieves Him to see that majority of His sheep are being deceived by these so-called servants of His and leading them to perdition. These pastors and church leaders (false christs) were so successful in the teaching of these heresies that their sheep willing and happily accept these wrong teachings. Today, the majority of churches in one way or another have erred in believing in some of these heresies resulting to many Christians fervently practising them just as in the days of the priesthood during the time of our Lord Jesus.

Example of a False Christ

"Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols." Rev 2:20 (NKJ)

Firstly, she calls herself a prophetess.
Today, there are Christians (false christs) who profess to be God's anointed (or appointed) servants, such as God's prophets, teachers, apostles, etc. (they are actually doing the work of the Devil by teaching distorted truth and heresies). They go round to churches to anoint Christians they hardly know as prophets, teachers, evangelists, etc. However, only Church Elders, Pastors and Leaders have the right to lay hands on proven Christians to send them forth into the various ministries. Destruction awaits these false christs, who through their greed for money and recognition as great men of God, distort the truth of God's word.

Secondly, she teaches the servants of God
These false christs love to teach Church leaders, pastors, full-time workers, and those who love the Lord. They will have something new to share, and normally they will distort the meaning of Bible verses by using them out of context. These false christs speak prophecies that serve to gratify the pride of life, the lusts of the flesh and the lust of the eyes. Preying upon the weakness of the human nature, they mislead the humble servants of God by their worldly doctrines.

Thirdly, her teaching misleads God's servants
a) into sexual immorality.
Christians are betrothed to the Lord, and are to be the bride of the Lamb. We are to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. If we love the world, we will then be committing adultery with the world, thus showing our hatred for God.
Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously?" Jam 4:4-5
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world-- the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-- is not of the Father but is of the world. 1John 2:15-16
Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire and covetousness, which is idolatry Col 3:5

(b) into eating food offered to idols
Food for all Christians is the Word of God (Matt 4:4)
But He answered and said, "It is written, `Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'" Matt 4:4
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Joh 1:14
"I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world." Joh 6:51
Eating food offered to idols is accepting wrong teachings {teachings with the Word of God distorted, worldly wisdom, philosophy, etc.}. This teachings originate from the devil, and they destroy the Christian's faith. Such teachings are:-
Doctrines of devils (1Tim 4:1), Mystery of Satan, Training people to prophesy {Note:-all prophecies originate from God and as such cannot be `taught'}. Lording over the sheep. "Touch not the anointed". {Note:- They claim that they are the `anointed' -the Christ- yet the Lord has warned us to beware of false Christs in these last days.} Another teaching that has confused Christians and destroyed their faith in the finished work of the Cross, has been in the area of mistaking demon-oppression in sinning born-again believers for demon-possession.

But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. 2Pet 2:1-3

The False Christs have already decieved many
When we see churches using worldly wisdom to conduct and carry out their administration and activities and Christians too are living according to worldly wisdom, then know that God is no longer their Master or Lord. Today, we have already seen this situation. Because of the defilement of the Body of Christ, which is Holy, by the heresies and distorted teachings of fasle Christs, God will sieve out the chaffs from the wheat. God does not want His people to be cast into hell along with the hypocrites, thus He has no choice but to cleanse His church prior to His Coming to collect His elects or saints.
