Mystery of the 7 Seals
The Four Horses of Apocalypse
And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come and see." Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword. When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come and see." So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine." When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, "Come and see." So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth. Rev 6:1-8

Understanding the Horses
Horses are extremely helpful in assisting one's job especially in transportation and battle. Different types of horses are suitable for different kind of work. They are trained specially for the type of work involved. A farm horse is useless in warfare, but a liability. Similarly, a war horse is unsuitable for farming.
In warfare, a cavalier (horse soldier) is equivalent to tens of footmen (foot soldiers) and a charioteer is equivalent to many cavaliers. The horsemen (both cavalier and charioteers) are the magnified strength of the army in fighting the enemy's forces.
A chariot is normally pulled by four horses, harnessed together so that all the four horses' strength are unified. Its strength can be equated to that of the power of four horses. A horse, therefore, is the empowering force to the rider to assist and strengthen him in a particular type of work.
Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses are flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD stretches out His hand, both he who helps will fall, and he who is helped will fall down; they all will perish together. Isa 31:3
Though the Egyptian armies were strong and powerful, and all the nations feared them, yet God reminded His people, the Israelites, that the Egyptians were only human. Their horses too were flesh and not spirit, thus they are easily destroyed. When God sends forth His army, which is spirit, the whole Egyptian army will be wiped out. Both the riders and the horses which help them will be destroyed.
The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but deliverance is of the LORD. Prov 21:31
God reminds us that the horse is just the empowering factor and not the almighty, for the victory is decided by Him.

Horses are the spirits of heaven from God
I saw by night, and behold, a man riding on a red horse, and it stood among the myrtle trees in the hollow; and behind him were horses: red, sorrel, and white. Then I said, "My lord, what are these?" So the angel who talked with me said to me, "I will show you what they are." And the man who stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, "These are the ones whom the LORD has sent to walk to and fro throughout the earth." Zech 1:8-10
These 4 horses were sent out by God into the world to do the work required of them in order to fulfill His plan. The colours of the horses are as follows:-
1. 2 Red Horses,
2 1 Sorrel (brownish) Horse,
3. 1 White Horse
Then I turned and raised my eyes and looked, and behold, four chariots were coming from between two mountains, and the mountains were mountains of bronze. With the first chariot were red horses, with the second chariot black horses, with the third chariot white horses, and with the fourth chariot dappled horses-- strong steeds. Then I answered and said to the angel who talked with me, "What are these, my lord?" And the angel answered and said to me, "These are four spirits of heaven, who go out from their station before the Lord of all the earth." Zech 6:1-5
The four horses are the four spirits of heaven who
go out from the station before the Lord.
From the above scriptures, the four chariots were pulled by 4 different coloured horses as shown below:-
1st. chariot white horses.
2nd. chariot black horses.
3rd. chariot red horses.
4th. chariot dappled (grizzled) horses.
These chariots with their various coloured horses will each represent a greater empowering than individual horses in doing God's command. These 4 coloured horses/chariots are the 4 spirits of heaven. Since the four horses are the four spirits of heaven, then I will classify the works of the horses as follows.
And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, ... And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.
White horse (righteous work)
The rider being empower went forth to do righteous works (white) and he was very successful. ...(1st Seal)
When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come and see." Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.
Red Horse (wars)
The rider took peace from the earth (causing unrests, dissatisfactions, civil commotions and rebellions) resulting to wars killing many people. ....(2nd Seal)
When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come and see." So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine."
Black horse (confusion)
The rider was confused for to some a day's wage is insufficient to buy enough food for the family, and to others a day's wage is extremely high.
However, this extremely low pay will not be found Israel (oil) and Christian (new wine) nations. ....(3rd Seal)
When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, "Come and see." So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.
Pale horse (death)
The rider was called death, thus pale represents the colour/shade of dead people. Since Hades (hell) followed after him (called Death), all those killed during this period will go to hell for their eternal damnation. ....(4th Seal)

White Horse - Righteous Works
Christians who have been cleansed of their sins will have the Holy Spirit in them to do good works in accordance to His Word, such as preaching the everlasting gospel, casting our evil spirits, praying for the sick, fasting, teaching and expounding the word of God, etc.
"Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them." Ezek 36:25-27 (NKJ)
Red Horse - Blood-shed and Wars
The Lord sends wars for the chastisement of His people for their abominations, and for the punishment of the wicked nations, especially those who dare to defile His temple.
The LORD has revealed our righteousness. Come and let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God. Make the arrows bright! Gather the shields! The LORD has raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes. For His plan is against Babylon to destroy it, because it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance for His temple. Jer 51:10-11 (NKJ)
Black Horse - Confusion/Darkness
The Lord sent confusion among the people. He sent confusion amongst the enemies of Israel under the leadership of Gideon and also amongst the Assyrians surrounding the wall of Jerusalem to save Israel.
"The LORD will strike you with madness and blindness and confusion of heart. And you shall grope at noonday, as a blind man gropes in darkness; you shall not prosper in your ways; you shall be only oppressed and plundered continually, and no one shall save you." Deut 28:28-29 (NKJ)
Pale Horse - Death
Death is the last resort of chastisement or judgment to bring the people from their wicked ways back to righteousness. This death is normally caused by plagues, pestilences, diseases, poison and natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, etc. These calamities may save them from their eternal damnation in the lake of fire. God loves them and wants to bring them to His everlasting heavenly habitation.
"And it shall be, if they say to you, 'Where should we go?' then you shall tell them, 'Thus says the LORD: "Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity." ' "And I will appoint over them four forms of destruction," says the LORD: "the sword to slay, the dogs to drag, the birds of the heavens and the beasts of the earth to devour and destroy." Jer 15:2-3 (NKJ)

Repent and come back to God, our loving Father
But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. 2 Pet 2:1-3
